About Reiki
The word Reiki means Universal Life Energy. Reiki is energy and a non-invasive healing or stress reduction technique used to maintain health by channeling this energy. The practice of Reiki originated, according to tradition, around 3,000 B.C. in what we now call Tibet. Some suggest Reiki was the foundation of Acupuncture and many other healing methods that aid in the flow of energy. The difference between Reiki and other healing systems is that Reiki energy comes through, not from, the practitioner. The Reiki practitioner does not direct energy, but the client “draws” the Reiki energy according to their needs.
Reiki and Religion
Reiki works whether you believe it will or not. Reiki has no dogma to believe. It is compatible with all religious faiths and paths. Once again, the energy is not the practitioner’s own, but the Universal Life Energy passing through the practitioner on its way to the client. As it passes through, it works on the practitioner, imparting benefits similar to those the client receives.
The Degrees of Reiki
Reiki is a complete method for activating and learning to use the Universal Life Energy to promote healing, personal growth, transformation, and enlightenment. The Reiki method has been kept intact in its essence as it has been preserved and transmitted through the centuries. The person completing First Degree Reiki may stop at that point and be a Certified Practitioner, or may continue on through the series to whatever level is best suited to his/her needs. The choice to go on into deeper levels is an individual one.
In these workshops you will be initiated into the Universal Healing Energy through an attunement and you will learn the healing art of Reiki for you to use in your life or in service to others.
First Degree Reiki
While each of us is born aware of the natural flow of Universal Energy, most of us are gradually conditioned to fear and limit beliefs that block that awareness and allow us to forget our natural connection. In First Degree Reiki training, the Master/Teacher facilitates the reawakening of each student’s awareness of that energy flow and his/her connection to it through a combination of discussion, light meditation, Reiki attunements, and hands-on practice.
First Degree Reiki, the basic course, is usually taught in one full-day seminar or two four-hour sessions on consecutive days and includes one or two separate energy-activating attunements per person and complete training in the use of the hands-on Reiki technique to treat self and others.
My First Degree students receive a handbook at the beginning of the training and a certificate upon completion.

Second Degree Reiki
The Second Degree of Reiki is available only to those who have completed First Degree training. It is recommended that a person practice at least 21 or 30 days before advancing to this level. Second Degree Reiki grants a person greater flexibility while increasing the effectiveness of treatment to a considerable extent.
In Second Degree Reiki, you will learn techniques to intensify and focus the energy flow, deal with deep-seated emotional and mental problems, and conduct absentee-healing treatments. The distant-healing technique is analogous to learning to send light energy to a specific receiver in much the same way that radio or television signals are transmitted.
Second Degree Reiki is also usually taught in one full-day seminar or in two four-hour sessions on consecutive days and includes one or two attunements.

Third degree Reiki
The Third Degree of Reiki is traditionally called the Master level. At this level of Reiki training, the person is ready to learn the process of giving attunements. The ancient process of doing these energy activations has been preserved in a formula for tapping a higher order of light energy. Third Degree Reiki students are then instructed in effective methods of training practitioners. This level also includes one or two attunements.
Class time for Third Degree Reiki is flexible according to the number of students in the class, but is usually taught in a one day, seven hour session or a two day, four hour session on consecutive days.
